Art Deco 1920s Silver Marcasite & Pearl Brooch ~ German Sterling Brooch Pin
An exceptionally fine silver marcasite and pearl brooch dating from the early Art Deco Era c1920's.This beautiful brooch/pin was made in Germany, it has echoes of the Jugendstil movement in it's swirling naturalistic Art Nouveau design. The pierced open work design is hand crafted in Sterling silver with and hand set with numerous marcasite stones and a faux pearl to the centre.It has a continental roll over safety clasp.It is an unusally large example and I have to admit to having stashed it away in my own jewel box for many years! Time to pass it on to another loving home :-)HALLMARKS : GERMANY. STERLINGMEASUREMENTS : Setting side to side is 6.6cm x 2cm wide.WEIGHT : 17.1 grams
